This text effect is inspired by the Raiders of the Lost Ark movie.

1. Type out the text you will be applying the effect to. I used "Adventure" for the font. If you do not have this font style you can download it for free at: http://www.1001freefonts.com/fonts/afonts3.htm. Scroll down the page until you see the Adventure font.

Ok. Here are the font properties.

Adventure, Size 140
Kerning: -4
Smooth Anti-Alias
Auto kern

The gradient for the text is below.

#FF6600 to FFCC00

To have to text swoop upwards like the Raiders of the Lost Ark text does, we'll need to attach the text to a path. Use the pen tool to create a path like the one below. Select both the text and the path and go to Text > Attach to Path.

Add a Drop Shadow to the text, the setting are below.

2. Copy and paste the text and remove the drop shadow but add a black stroke. (See the settings below.)

Stroke settings:

Click on the layer that the copied text is on and choose "Inverse Color Burn" for the Blend Mode.
