I know I'm always stretching when I come up with names for text effects but we'll just call this one Funky Marshmallow! Actually, it kind of reminds me of a cross between the Michelin Man and Oreo cookies - I have a feeling that's just me though. Oh well, there's a lot of steps to this one, or at least a lot of Filters, so I thought it would be easier to just provide the PNG file for you to download.

Adobe has released an update for Fireworks CS3. Actually, they did this a while back but I wanted to post the news here in case you missed it. This update improves 9-Slice Scaling, Alien Skin Eye Candy plug-in (doesn't include the plug-in) but now lets you use it with FW CS3, ActionScript CS3 support and several other improvements to help tie up loose ends. Adobe invested much into integrating several of its original applications with the ones it recently acquired from Macromedia in its CS3 Suite of products. Much of that focus went into making the workflow from Illustrator to Flash easier. When you think about it, they're a natural fit since they're both based on vector design. (Fireworks also does well in this area and already has a great workflow with Flash)
